We are looking to add a Lead DSP to our team. As the Lead DSP you will be responsible for assisting in managing all operational aspects of a residential program within St. John’s Community Services.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to utilize internal software programs.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to respond effectively in high stress/critical situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with people at various levels of the organization.
  • Valid Driver’s License with daily access to a privately maintained and insured vehicle
  • Successful completion of the pre-employment process, including motor vehicle record and criminal background checks.
  • Obtain a valid health certificate to meet SJCS or current funding authority requirements as required.
  • Meet SJCS and the funding authority requirement of criminal background and record checks.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree, or 60 credit hours, and 6 months of related work experience preferred
  • One year of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual disabilities

Responsibilities

  • Assists people in utilizing generic public resources and increasing their exposure to general life experiences.
  • Participates in training and mentoring new employees.
  • Monitors daily notes to validate services and support provided meet identified goal.
  • Ensures all documentation captures applicable service definitions and clearly states the supports provided to meet individual goals.
  • Reviews/Approves daily service notes and enters service billing as applicable.
  • Provides staff feedback on quality and compliance standards of service notes.
  • Assists supervisor with timely and accurate billing for services within the program.
  • Schedules and attends medical appointments with individuals and follows through with physicians' orders as necessary.
  • Maintains work environments consistent with family expectations and ensures homes are clean and presentable.
  • Encourages independence in all areas, provides direct care and assistance with personal care when needed.
  • Transports individuals to and from work, day activities, school, medical, social and other activities
  • Support individuals to become independent, make decisions, and live a meaningful dignified life with valued social roles (ex: friend, neighbor, student, employee)
  • Perform direct support duties as per the program schedule and/or program need.
  • Ensuring that PSR’s are done after every transaction in therap.
