About The Position

We are currently seeking a team member to fill our Lead Direct Support Professional position. This role involves assisting people with disabilities to achieve independence in their daily living activities, attending staff meetings, and effectively communicating with team members. The position requires demonstrating the ability to handle challenging situations calmly, providing various levels of support to individuals with disabilities, and offering training and oversight to other Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). The Lead DSP will also assist the Residential Coordinator with administrative duties, including medication, record, financial, and data audits, and other assigned tasks. Additionally, the role involves passing medications and assisting with medication training for other staff.

Requirements

Must be an eligible driver for RRHSF (at least 25 years old, valid driver's license, & driven for 5+ years)
Have a reliable, insured vehicle
Motivated to teach
Be dependable and reliable
Comfortable assisting with personal cares (toileting, bathing)
Comfortable with possible behaviors (therapeutic intervention training provided)

Responsibilities

Assist people with disabilities to be independent in their activities of daily living
Attend staff meetings
Effectively communicate with team members
Approach challenging situations with a calm approach
Provide different levels of support to people with disabilities to meet their needs
Provide training and oversight to other DSP’s
Assist Residential Coordinator with administrative duties, including medication, record audits, financial audits, data audits, and other duties as assigned
Pass medications and assist with medication training of other staff
Participate in community activities as well as in home leisure time activities
