About The Position

The primary responsibility is to deliver person-centered care and services to those we support in a residential setting to fulfill our purpose for existing “We believe the world shines brighter when people with developmental disabilities achieve their full potential.” This role assists in the development and delivery of holistic individual support plans, assisting people in achieving their personal goals and desires, providing interaction and choices for activities in their community that support a meaningful day, assisting with spiritual supports and encouraging individuals to be independent in activities of daily living and personal care. The second responsibility is the development of activities and coordination of programming and services through staff development, individual support plans, and collaboration under the direction of the manager. While not a supervisor, this position is a resource for questions and guidance for others on day-to-day needs and provides back up to the manager.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required unless directed by state regulations.
  • One year’s previous experience in a work position, volunteer/community role, or educational setting that focuses on serving and helping others.
  • Drivers’ licensure required if role involves driving others or required by state regulations.
  • Ability to be flexible on hours and residential settings in your local community to assist colleagues and those we serve.
  • Adult CPR and first aid certification if required by local agencies.
  • Theoretical or practical understanding of a subject acquired and increased through experience.
  • Proficiencies developed through training, practice, or experience.
  • The level and quality of being able to do something improved with training and experience.
  • Serving others, giving & receiving feedback, holding self & others accountable.
  • Collaboration, listening skills, conflict resolution, and leveraging technology to the fullest.
  • Quality and continuous improvement of self and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months or more previous leadership experience preferred (project management, team/task lead, supervisor, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Function as a front-line resource for DSP colleagues, persons supported, or parent & guardians in the home.
  • Bring recommendations forward related to quality and process improvements for employees and those served.
  • Escalate topics to the manager as needed.
  • Welcome, onboard, and train new colleagues.
  • Raise additional training and development needs for staff.
  • Coordinate and ensure standard operating procedures are consistently implemented for identified residential home(s).
  • Order food and supplies and allocate receipts to house and program financials.
  • Reconcile and enter personal funds records.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment always in the residence.
  • Maintain a master calendar of appointments, facility activities, meetings for residence.
