About The Position

World Wide Technology, Inc. currently has an opportunity available for a Lead Developer on the Deal Configuration team in the IT – SC&E organization located at our headquarters in St. Louis, MO. The Deal Configuration team owns three applications across our internal services organization: Deals, Solutions, and Service Quoting. These applications help support the pre-sales, engineering, scoping, and quoting processes of an opportunity lifecycle with the goal of winning new business. These applications are in high demand and are currently being used by our WWT internal users around the globe. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team consisting of Developers, Analysts, Architects and Product Owners. Successful candidates will have a background in full stack development and will be responsible for leading the translation of business needs into IT solutions with current programs, projects, and initiatives in mind. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, highly innovative and has passion for learning both business and technical processes. This position also includes leading development efforts, mentoring junior developrs, and contributing to strategic planning and execution. This role uses a broad range of functional and technical skills toward the build-out and integration of custom WWT applications and third-party vendor systems and products. This position plays a crucial role in the design, development, and deployment of software solutions. This employee will leverage their experience to contribute and help drive complex projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role is expected to adopt an AI‑first mindset, actively leveraging modern AI‑powered development tools to improve development speed, code quality, testing effectiveness, and overall delivery outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelors or Masters or MBA degree in preferably Computer Science, Management Information Systems or Supply Chain
10+ years experience in application development
Technical Leadership: Ability to lead and guide multiple teams, make decisions and provide technical direction. Ability to inspire and motivate teams fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Experience with Javascript, Node.js and frameworks such as Vue.js
Experience with HTML and CSS
Experience with object-oriented development and data sources such as Oracle and MongoDB
Adaptability: Capability to adapt to changing requirements, technology trends, and business needs.
Decision-Making: Strong decision-making abilities to evaluate trade-offs and make informed choices that balance technical and business considerations.

Responsibilities

Lead and promote WWT Core Values and help Shape best practices.

Lead the design and architecture of complex solutions ensuring alignment with overall strategic goals of the organization.

Evaluate and incorporate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to enhance development processes and product capabilities within teams and the organization.
Ensure that appropriate testing strategies (unit, integration, regression, UAT) are in place and that test coverage of the team/organization is in place and meets standards set by Quality Engineers.
Identify and implement improvements in development processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance team efficiency and outcomes.
Proactively identify potential risks and issues related to design and development and develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks to ensure success.
Enforce coding standards and best practices to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., code assistants, test generation, documentation support, analysis tools) to accelerate development workflows, improve code quality, enhance testing strategies, and reduce defects.
Serve as an advocate for AI-assisted development practices by sharing knowledge, use cases, and best practices with team members to elevate overall team productivity and effectiveness.
Apply AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly, ensuring outputs meet WWT quality standards, security requirements, and ethical guidelines.
