About The Position

The Lead Detox Therapist is responsible for providing clinical support to clients in a detox, inpatient, and/or residential setting. This role involves conducting group therapy sessions, individual and family therapy (as needed), and clinical assessments. The Detox Therapist collaborates with the medical and clinical team to create a safe, stable, and therapeutic environment for clients experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Lead Responsibilities: Work with Site Director to train, manage, and support all clinical staff onsite. Remain flexible to support where needed on the team - Candidates must be proficient and knowledgeable on all tracks of care at Chantilly Detox facility. Other tasks as assigned by the Site Director.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health science (Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field) is Required.
  • An active license in the state of Virginia in good standing is required (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Resident in Counseling, Supervisee in Social Work, or Resident in Marriage and Family Therapy).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, including experience with clients from the age of 13 – 30 in a detox, residential, partial hospitalization (“PHP”), and/or intensive outpatient (“IOP) setting.
  • Proven ability to manage diverse caseloads while maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check, encompassing criminal records and motor vehicle reports.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate evidence-based group and individual therapy sessions for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and billing standards.
  • Participate in utilization reviews and medical necessity discussions with insurance providers as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the medical, psychiatric, and clinical team to ensure integrated care.
  • Provide education and psychoeducation to clients and families on addiction, recovery, and mental health.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all client interactions and treatment approaches.
  • Participate in program development, team meetings, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Train, manage, and support all clinical staff onsite.
  • Remain flexible to support where needed on the team.
  • Be proficient and knowledgeable on all tracks of care at Chantilly Detox facility.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Site Director.
