Jordan Design is a high performing team that works together, pushes the boundaries, and always stays focused on delivering the best product for the consumer. We’re looking for an exceptional Lead Designer, Footwear Materials Design to combine their experience, problem solving abilities, and creativity to help create the future of sport at Jordan. The ideal candidate needs to be a highly creative problem solver with an optimistic approach to work, who has a passion for Materials & FW and / or product design, advising a team, and doesn’t settle for anything less than the best to meet the needs of the athlete. They thrive under pressure and are eager to take on technical projects across a streetware and lifestyle that have a significant impact for the athletes we serve and our brand. You’ll explore new opportunities and take risks, delivering the highest levels of both performance and style that the Jordan athlete expects!
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, a related field or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
- 5-7 years’ experience designing and developing innovative textiles, footwear, Materials and other products
- Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience
- Passion for the intersection of Sport and Streetwear
- Ability to translate consumer knowledge and athlete insights into product solutions and narratives
- Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills
- Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project
- Active and proficient participant in the creative process and cross-functional communication
- Experience presenting design concepts to internal and external audiences, including athletes

Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in Lifestyle or streetwear experience preferred
- Cobbling, prototyping, 3D design, and hand rendering skills skills are a plus
- 3D design programs experience is a plus
- Vizcom experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Work on new original designs as well as seasonal solutions for the Jordan streetwear footwear portfolio.
- Engage with project teammates on researching, gaining insights, problem solving around style, performance and manufacturing.
- Work with athletes and consumers, gaining insights and actioning into concepts and products.
- Craft a vast range of creative and appealing solutions, that are considerate of cost.
- Present design concepts to various internal and external audiences, including athletes.
