Lead Data Scientist — Growth & Experimentation

FullscriptToronto, ON
Remote

About The Position

We're hiring a Lead Data Scientist to be the analytics owner for one of Fullscript's fastest-growing segments. This role combines the scope of a head of analytics with the autonomy of a senior individual contributor. You will partner directly with the GM, Finance, Product, and Commercial leaders to answer critical business questions, understand customer behavior and product usage, and own the experimentation engine that tests strategic bets. The primary focus is on using analytics to drive performance, understand results, design and execute experiments, and provide leadership with actionable insights and recommendations. This is a foundational hire where you will shape how analytics operates within the segment and have the opportunity to grow the function over time.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in data science, growth analytics, or quantitative business roles.
  • Real depth in experimentation and causal inference, with a track record of designing and shipping tests that changed business decisions.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • Comfort working directly in large, imperfect datasets without a dedicated support team.
  • A track record of operating autonomously: scoping ambiguous questions, prioritizing your own roadmap, and driving work to a decision without close management.
  • Executive-grade communication skills: ability to explain metric movements and recommend actions to leadership in plain language.
  • Strong business judgment: understanding of how growth, product usage, and operational drivers connect to revenue and contribution margin.
  • Customer obsession: instinctively grounding analysis in how practitioners and patients use the product.
  • Experience in marketplace, eCommerce, SaaS, or healthcare businesses at scale.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience partnering with FP&A or strategic finance teams.
  • Experience building metric trees or driver-based performance frameworks.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools (LLMs, agents) in analytics workflow.
  • Exposure to BI tools such as Sigma, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Experience mentoring or managing analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Own experimentation: Partner with Product and Commercial teams to design, run, and interpret growth experiments, including hypothesis framing, test sizing, result calling, and decision support.
  • Bring rigor to a fast-paced business by applying power analysis, causal inference, and guardrail metrics.
  • Build the reporting backbone: Own core dashboards and self-serve tooling for the segment, evolving an AI-augmented reporting stack.
  • Make performance easy to understand for executives.
  • Generate insight, not just analysis: Break down revenue and margin performance into drivers (volume, mix, pricing, cohort behavior) and proactively identify growth opportunities, leaks, and next steps.
  • Keep the data foundation healthy: Manage the partnership with the central Data Engineering team to ensure core data models and pipelines support analytics needs.
  • Sharpen the forecast: Support Strategic Finance with driver-based revenue forecasting analytics, connecting operational signals to financial outcomes.
