About The Position

Reach Financial, LLC. seeks a Lead Data Scientist in New York, NY responsible for utilizing advanced mathematical and analytical methods to develop credit underwriting strategy and risk-based pricing strategy using data analytics. This role involves identifying, researching, analyzing, and optimizing statistical and segmentation tools to develop acquisition risk strategies for personal loan products. The Lead Data Scientist will conduct data-driven analytics using sophisticated tools and techniques, collaborate with the team to generate and implement automated loan acquisition programs, and track their performance. They will also utilize analytical, statistical, and programming skills to analyze large datasets, develop data-driven business solutions, mine internal and external data to optimize business decisioning, research new data vendors, build and maintain data products, and develop predictive models for various organizational functions. Additionally, the role includes developing processes to monitor model performance and data accuracy, and creating data-backed recommendations for stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Operation Research, Industrial Engineering or Computer Science
  • Five (5) years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a related occupation
  • At least five (5) years of experience with: Extracting, cleaning, manipulating datasets and building statistical models
  • At least five (5) years of experience with: Utilizing Python to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • At least five (5) years of experience with: Applying unsupervised and supervised machine learning algorithms
  • At least five (5) years of experience with: Applying algorithms’ fundamentals and leveraging the best algorithm hyperparameters
  • At least three (3) years of experience with: Consumer Unsecured Lending
  • At least three (3) years of experience with: Consumer Credit Bureau Data
  • At least three (3) years of experience with: Cloud Service Providers including but not limited to AWS

Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced mathematical and analytical methods to develop credit underwriting strategy and risk-based pricing strategy using data analytics.
  • Identify, research, analyze, and optimize statistical and segmentation tools to develop acquisition risk strategies for personal loan products.
  • Conduct data driven analytics utilizing sophisticated analytical tools, software, and techniques.
  • Collaborate with the team to generate and implement automated and scalable versions of loan acquisition programs, as well as track and analyze performance of various tests and acquisition programs to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Utilize analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze and interpret large dataset.
  • Develop data-driven business solutions.
  • Mine and analyze data from internal database and external vendor to optimize and improve business decisioning.
  • Research and evaluate new data vendors and make recommendations.
  • Build and maintain data products.
  • Develop predictive models to optimize various functions across the organization, including marketing, risk, and operations.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
  • Work independently to create data-backed recommendations to help stakeholders make strategic business decisions.
