About The Position
SMX is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join a leadership team of experts and senior staff experienced in leading large-scale portfolios. This team fosters an organizational culture of high-performing solution delivery. This position is onsite in Camp Springs, Maryland and requires a Top-Secret clearance.
Requirements
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree required
- USCIS Experience
- DHS Suitability
- Developed and deployed AI/ML/LLMs solutions
- Familiarity with SQL, Python/R, and visualization tools like Tableau
- Ability to communicate complex technical details clearly to diverse audiences
- Strong skills in translating technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders
- Top-Secret clearance required
Responsibilities
- Provides technical leadership for enterprise data analytics solutions.
- Designs and models analytical architectures.
- Implements systems and databases that support end-user analytics.
- Applies statistical, programming, and engineering methods.
- Builds and optimizes SQL-based analytical data structures.
- Guides BI platform selection, architecture, and standards.
- Enforces data quality and performance criteria.
- Performs cost-benefit and tradeoff analyses of solution options.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams.
- Clearly communicates technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
