About The Position

SMX is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to join a leadership team of experts and senior-level staff experienced in leading large-scale portfolios. This role will foster an organizational culture of high-performing solution delivery. The position is onsite in Camp Springs, Maryland, and requires a Top-Secret clearance. The Lead Data Scientist will provide technical leadership for enterprise data analytics solutions, designing and modeling analytical architectures, and implementing systems and databases to support end-user analytics. This involves applying statistical, programming, and engineering methods, building and optimizing SQL-based analytical data structures, and guiding BI platform selection, architecture, and standards. The role also includes enforcing data quality and performance criteria, conducting cost-benefit and tradeoff analyses of solution options, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and communicating technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

3 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree required.
USCIS Experience.
DHS Suitability.
Developed and deployed AI/ML/LLMs solutions.
Familiarity with SQL, Python/R, and visualization tools like Tableau.
Ability to communicate complex technical details clearly to diverse audiences.
Strong skills in translating technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
Requires a Top-Secret clearance.
