Data engineers are responsible for building reliable and scalable data infrastructure that enables organizations to derive meaningful insights, make data-driven decisions, and unlock the value of their data assets. The role involves leading and managing a team of data engineers, defining and executing the data engineering strategy, and ensuring the effective delivery of data solutions. They provide technical expertise, drive innovation, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver high quality, scalable, and reliable data infrastructure and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and delivery of enterprise-scale data platforms on GCP, with BigQuery as the core analytics engine.
  • Own data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and performance optimization in BigQuery.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using GCP services like Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and governance across all data pipelines.
  • Optimize systems for scalability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Build and enforce engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with analytics, data science, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for modern data architecture and platform strategy.
