Lead Data Engineer - GCP
About The Position
Capgemini is looking to hire a senior lead data engineer with GCP skills to join our team. Some of the responsibilities are listed below. Your Role: Design and optimize scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data architectures on GCP, aligning solutions with business goals. Design end-to-end batch and streaming architectures using BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and Cloud Storage. Build scalable data models for analytics and ML. Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Data Fusion, Composer (Airflow), and dbt. Implement security and governance (IAM, VPC-SC, DLP, encryption) ensuring compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Optimize performance and cost (BigQuery tuning, monitoring). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable analytics and AI/ML use cases.
Requirements
- GCP expertise (ideally Professional Data Engineer certified)
- Strong SQL and Python/Scala; experience with Spark/Beam
- Hands-on with GCP services, IaC (Terraform), and CI/CD
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Proactive and solution-oriented
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Looker, Vertex AI, or multi-cloud environments
- Knowledge of real-time data tools (Bigtable, Firestore)
