The Lead Data Architect works in all data environments which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. The Lead Data Architect works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial. This role requires the ability to quickly learn new business areas and find ways to add value using technology, and a passion for improving data for all employees in the organization. The Lead Data Architect will transform the way the organization thinks about data and help it become a model for others in the industry through its data strategy. The Lead Data Architect will report to the Principal Solutions Architect and directly support corporate services departments (Finance, Human Resources, Risk, Compliance, or Legal). The Lead Data Architect is responsible for developing blueprints for all data repositories, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. They will translate business needs into long-term data architecture solutions, define and create dimensional database schemas, and evaluate the reusability of current data for separate analyses. The role also involves conducting data sheering to rid the system of old, unused or duplicate data, and reviewing object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access. The Lead Data Architect will advise executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Candidates should be located within 50 miles of one of our Hub sites for occasional meetings in the office.
