About The Position

VendueTech is hiring an experienced Lead Data Analyst to own analytics and business intelligence across the company. The role works directly with leadership and cross-functional teams to turn platform usage, auction and property data, and AI-engine outputs into actionable insights that shape product, growth, and strategic decisions.

This is a hands-on, autonomous part-time role. The analyst will initially deliver high-impact analytical work while establishing the foundations of a scalable analytics function, with the opportunity to build and lead a team as the company grows. The position includes developing analytics strategy and KPIs, analysing product and business performance, building dashboards and reporting, collaborating with Data Engineering and AI teams, and using AI tools to accelerate analysis and automate workflows.

VendueTech is a pre-revenue startup with a live beta platform, signed letters of intent, proprietary AI technology, and grant-funded R&D projects. The company has a global team of 40 people from 15 countries, is headquartered at ZICER in Zagreb, Croatia, and offers remote work from anywhere. The role is compensated through 100% equity via the VendueTech Ltd ESOP Trust.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with BI tools and data visualisation.
• Python skills for analytics and automation.
• Experience with product analytics platforms such as Mixpanel, PostHog, or Google Analytics.
• Solid understanding of product, business, and growth metrics.
• Track record of turning complex data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience working independently with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
• Strong analytical thinking, prioritisation, and communication skills.
• Proactive approach to using AI tools to work faster and better.

Nice To Haves

• Experience building analytics capabilities or leading analytical teams.
• Experience with Apache Superset, PostgreSQL, or AWS.
• Financial modelling and cash-flow analysis experience.
• SaaS or marketplace analytics experience, including sales funnels and marketing attribution.
• Experience with Claude and AI-assisted analytics workflows.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, data quality, and LLM-powered workflows.
• Interest in real estate, legal technology, or EU-funded R&D environments.

Responsibilities

• Define analytics priorities, KPIs, and reporting standards across the business.
• Translate business challenges into analytical initiatives that deliver measurable value.
• Help establish and scale the analytics function, including building and mentoring a team.
• Analyse user behaviour, engagement, retention, conversion, and adoption across investor and partner platforms.
• Identify ways to improve user experience, product performance, and customer journeys.
• Provide Sales and Marketing with insights on acquisition, funnels, campaign performance, and expansion across European markets.
• Analyse business and financial performance, including revenue, costs, and operational efficiency.
• Support grant-funded R&D projects with reliable metrics, impact tracking, and reporting.
• Identify ways to optimise processes, improve resource allocation, and support strategic decisions.
• Build dashboards and reporting using SQL and Apache Superset.
• Set consistent reporting standards and ensure business metrics are reliable and accessible.
• Work with Data Engineering and AI teams to improve data quality, availability, and accessibility.
• Use Claude and other AI tools to accelerate analysis, reporting, and SQL development.
• Automate repetitive analytical tasks and improve workflows.
• Help teams adopt practical AI-powered approaches to analytics and decision-making.
• Assess the current analytics setup, data availability, and business priorities during the first 90 days.
• Establish an initial KPI framework and identify high-impact analytics opportunities.
• Deliver a prioritised set of dashboards and insights for key stakeholders.
• Identify and help implement measurable improvements in product experience, growth, or operational efficiency.
• Introduce practical AI-assisted reporting and analytics workflows and work with Data Engineering to improve access to reliable data.
