Lead Data Analyst, Data Products

CentralReachHolmdel Township, NJ
$140,000 - $160,000Hybrid

About The Position

CentralReach's Data Products team is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to be the analytical backbone of our group, reporting directly to the VP of Data Products. This role involves becoming an expert on the company's data model, building reusable analytical structures for the company, and tackling high-stakes analytical questions that drive critical business decisions. The Data Products team operates like a startup within CentralReach, establishing its own processes and playbook. The ideal candidate will have a low tolerance for heavy process, a high sense of ownership, and the ability to move quickly, express data-driven opinions, and proactively identify the next analytical steps. The role emphasizes the use of AI tools as a fundamental part of the analytical workflow, not just for productivity but as a transformative approach to deriving answers from data.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on healthcare data analytics experience in claims, clinical, or behavioral health data.
  • Expert SQL skills, including writing and tuning complex queries at scale, designing analytical schemas, and reviewing code for trustworthiness.
  • Demonstrated experience building analytical structures for consumption by others (e.g., marts, semantic layers, reusable cohort or measure definitions).
  • Proven track record of analyses that have driven real business decisions, with the ability to articulate the decision and its impact (dollar, customer, or clinical).
  • Working fluency with at least one BI tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Sisense, Metabase).
  • Working fluency with at least one analytical language beyond SQL (Python preferred).
  • Strong writing and communication skills, capable of explaining complex methodologies to non-technical executives with precision.
  • Comfort operating with significant autonomy on open-ended questions.
  • Active interest in using AI tooling as a core part of the workflow.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ABA, autism services, or behavioral health analytics.
  • Experience with value-based care, alternative payment models, or population health analytics.
  • Experience contributing to externally facing data products (e.g., benchmarking, payer intelligence, real-world evidence).
  • Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
  • Experience with semantic-layer tools (e.g., dbt, LookML).

Responsibilities

  • Become the internal expert on the CentralReach data model, understanding table relationships, limitations, and analytical capabilities.
  • Design and build reusable analytical structures such as entities, cohorts, episodes, and analysis-ready datasets for company-wide consumption.
  • Establish conventions for naming, versioning, lineage, and documentation to ensure analytical work is reusable, auditable, and trusted.
  • Collaborate with data product managers and BI engineers on the integration of measures into product-facing dashboards.
  • Translate ambiguous business questions into testable analyses with clear assumptions, defensible methodologies, and reproducible results.
  • Present findings to stakeholders, clearly articulating the 'so-what' and ensuring the methodology is auditable, linking work to outcomes like informed decisions and impact on dollars, customers, or clinical results.
  • Partner with data product managers to identify and address gaps in the underlying data model at the source.
  • Set the standard for analytical work within the team, including documented assumptions, reproducible code, version control, and peer review.
  • Utilize AI tooling (LLMs, code copilots, semantic search) as a core component of the daily workflow.
