About The Position

HII Mission Technologies seeks a cybersecurity engineering professional to support AFLCMC Fighters/Bombers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, through the DTIC Information Analysis Center Multiple Award Contract. The role delivers technical analysis, engineering products, and acquisition support for B-52 weapon-system modernization and sustainment. It integrates System Security Engineering (SSE), Risk Management Framework (RMF), Assessment and Authorization (A&A), and Department of the Air Force acquisition requirements across aircraft, avionics, weapon systems, embedded operational technology, and connected mission technologies. The Lead Cyber Architect serves as the principal subject matter expert and technical authority for cybersecurity architecture and strategy across assigned efforts. The position addresses high-risk and ambiguous technical issues, shapes long-term engineering approaches, and influences senior customer decisions with credible analysis. Government officials retain authorization and risk-acceptance authority. The work schedule is hybrid, with at least three days per week onsite. The position requires an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI. It is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt role with an anticipated salary range of $140,777 to $210,000.

  • Meet applicable DoD 8140 work-role qualification requirements.
  • Active Secret security clearance and ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • At least one of the following certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCISO, GSLC, or CompTIA SecurityX.
  • Demonstrated principal-level expertise in SSE, RMF/A&A, weapon-system architecture, enterprise risk strategy, complex technical dispute resolution, and advising senior government decision makers.
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls, avionics or comparable embedded mission systems, networking, segmentation, encryption, authentication, interfaces, security testing, and cybersecurity risk management.

  • Familiarity with program protection and multidisciplinary engineering reviews.
  • Familiarity with eMASS or comparable authorization tools.
  • CCNA, CCNP, AWS specialty or advanced certification, or Microsoft Azure professional certification.

Responsibilities

  • Shape cybersecurity requirements, evaluate aircraft and subsystem architectures, and develop practical mitigations that support mission capability and resilient system integration.
  • Work with government program managers, engineers, manufacturers, and test organizations to translate security findings into engineering changes and acquisition decisions.
  • Deliver technical analyses and evidence supporting design reviews, authorization, modernization, fielding, and sustainment.
  • Define integrated SSE and cybersecurity architecture strategies across weapon-system portfolios, aligning security objectives, engineering investment, modernization priorities, and acquisition outcomes.
  • Establish technical approaches for complex RMF/A&A challenges, including boundaries, categorization, control tailoring, inheritance, evidence sufficiency, and authorization dependencies.
  • Provide authoritative technical review of SSPs, SCTMs, architecture analyses, assessment and risk reports, POA&Ms, and monitoring strategies supporting IATT and ATO.
  • Resolve high-consequence architecture, vulnerability, interface, and subsystem dependency issues, developing resilient options that address mission, safety, airworthiness, and sustainment constraints.
  • Shape threat-informed security requirements, program protection integration, and cybersecurity test strategies; assess residual risk and evidence limitations across lifecycle decisions.
  • Advise senior military and civilian leaders on architecture tradeoffs, systemic risks, investment priorities, and decision alternatives, including mission, cost, and schedule implications.
  • Lead resolution of cross-program technical disagreements with government customers, manufacturers, integrators, and test organizations, establishing a defensible basis for recommendations.
  • Develop senior engineers and technical leads, establish reusable engineering practices, and improve analytical rigor and product quality across the team and customer organization.
