Within Global Trade Services, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations while supporting the speed and efficiency of Target’s import operations. This team partners across internal and external stakeholders to provide expertise, training, and solutions that enable a compliant, high-performing global supply chain. The Lead Customs Entry Specialist is a senior expert responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and compliant filing of U.S. Customs entries. This role combines hands-on entry filing with team coaching, workload management, and process improvement to drive operational performance and compliance with CBP regulations.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and entry filing processes
  • Experience handling a range of entry types, including complex filings
  • Proficiency with systems and Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Demonstrated ability to coach others and manage competing priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence peers, model strong performance, and foster a positive, accountable team environment.

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)
  • Experience in high-volume or retail import environments

Responsibilities

  • Monitor entry activity and coach team members to ensure timely clearance and compliance.
  • File U.S. Customs entries (standard to complex) with high accuracy and efficiency; support production as needed to meet volume demands.
  • Review and approve CBP duty statements; reconcile variances and ensure timely payment.
  • Forecast entry volume and manage workload distribution across internal teams and external brokers to meet KPIs.
  • Leverage systems (ABI, ACE) and SOPs to ensure consistent, compliant execution.
  • Translate regulatory updates into clear procedures, training, and team expectations.
  • Identify trends in errors and implement process improvements to reduce rework and increase efficiency.
  • Resolve complex entry issues and escalate with clear recommendations when needed.
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing development to team members and internal partners.
  • Collaborate with vendors, brokers, and cross-functional teams to support import compliance.
