About The Position

The Lead Customer Service Representative position is a full-time role responsible for providing prompt, excellent customer service, maintaining store facility conditions, managing merchandising and sales, overseeing financial and security controls, and assisting with staffing and administrative duties. This role involves supervising customer service representatives in the absence of the Store Assistant Manager and contributing to the overall operational success of the store.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience in retail sales preferred.
  • Ability to perform the four (4) basic arithmetic operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, excellent customer service in a courteous, friendly, and attentive manner.
  • Greets customers, offers assistance, suggestions, and recommendations.
  • Rings up sales accurately, handling various payment types.
  • Operates fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, and telecom transactions.
  • Maintains store cleanliness and equipment standards, both inside and out.
  • Inspects store facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper working order, reporting maintenance needs.
  • Completes build-to’s for ordering/purchasing merchandise.
  • Receives and verifies vendor deliveries.
  • Maintains adequate stock and supplies, rotating stock properly.
  • Places advertising and pricing signage.
  • Controls merchandise, cash shortages, and other selling expenses.
  • Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and performing shift audits.
  • Monitors shift sales, cash handling procedures, and daily close-out functions.
  • Notifies the Store Manager of any discrepancies.
  • May receive and sign vendor deliveries, verifying quality and quantity.
  • Follows guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
  • Supervises customer service representatives in the absence of the Store Assistant Manager.
  • Coaches and trains new employees on duties and standards.
  • Monitors customer traffic and adjusts staffing to decrease waiting times.
  • Assists with employee counseling and provides performance feedback.
  • May provide direction for managing the fast food service area.
  • Manages gasoline pricing strategy and changes prices correctly.
  • Reports all incidents (injuries, theft, property damage, sanitation issues) to the Store Manager.
  • Reports any unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
  • Performs shift change duties, including counting cash drawers and completing reports.
  • Ensures accurate timekeeping records for all employees.
  • May take inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Attends job-related meetings and completes daily store reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
