About The Position

Wilkes University invites applicants for a Lead Refresh Custodial Worker (Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30 pm) in the Campus Support Services department to begin immediately. Position offers competitive starting hourly rate and generous benefits package, including employee and dependent tuition remission. The successful candidate must have good PC skills, strong attention to detail, communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently and is responsible for daily refresh/detail cleaning of restrooms, common areas, conference and meeting rooms, hallways and offices areas in such buildings as residence halls, athletic areas, administrative and academic buildings. The Lead Refresh Custodial Worker will lead, train, and provide daily direction to assigned staff. They will assign, monitor, & assist with daily cleaning duties. Provide cleaning and sanitation services in addition to the use of light floor machines and attachments (e.g., vacuums, floor buffers, carpet extractors, etc.), perform general maintenance work (e.g., replace light bulbs, plunge toilets, etc.), assist with event set-ups and seasonal grounds maintenance as well as removal and transportation of garbage and recyclables from throughout campus.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid PA driver's license
  • Proficient technical skills to perform associated tasks
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety regulations and other documentation pertinent to the position.

  • Basic knowledge of computers (Word, Excel and web-based applications)
