About The Position

Pueblo Diversified Industries (PDI) is seeking a Fort Carson Lead Custodian to support custodial services under the Fort Carson custodial contract. This role involves performing cleaning duties, providing transportation, and ensuring adequate supplies and equipment are available. The Lead Custodian will work alongside co-workers, including individuals with disabilities, and will provide on-site instruction and oversight to ensure quality standards and contract compliance. The position is located at Fort Carson, Colorado, and requires adherence to all safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of custodial experience
  • Age 21+
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass background and drug screening
  • Approved by the insurance carrier
  • Complete First Aid and other certifications
  • Ability to perform basic algebra, geometry, and common calculations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet, and basic office equipment
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret various instructions

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1 year in a supervisory or lead role

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned coworkers in performing required duties.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and instructions from management.
  • Provide on-site instruction in cleaning techniques.
  • Ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available in proper locations and at proper times.
  • Ensure coworkers, including individuals served, complete work as required and within expected timeframes.
  • Review and follow all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and communicate warnings and hazards.
  • Complete initial quality control inspections and redirect coworkers as necessary.
  • Drive PDI vehicles to transport self, coworkers, materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Follow all PDI and customer-specific driving rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Follow procedures and direct others in the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures to check electrical appliances and equipment before use.
  • Notify supervisor with recommendations about equipment repair and replacement.
  • Monitor coworker activities to ensure safety rules and policies are followed.
  • Mix and prepare cleaning solutions according to manufacturer specifications and PDI safety guidelines.
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture.
  • Dust furniture and equipment.
  • Polish metalwork.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empty wastebaskets.
  • Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum hallways and office space.
  • Transport small equipment or tools between departments.
  • Set up tables and chairs in the lunchroom, work centers, and other areas as required.
