The Lead Custodian position is directly responsible for a wide variety of supervisory, service-related, and janitorial duties, which are performed in accordance with agency policies and state regulations. The primary duties include instructing and training team members in all aspects of custodial cleaning, including scheduling services, equipment maintenance, and ordering supplies. This role also involves preparing timesheets, coaching and monitoring team member performance, recommending staffing changes, and performing direct, hands-on supervision. The Lead Custodian will perform quality janitorial duties, including substituting for absent team members, monitoring cleanliness, and performing various cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment and supplies, scheduling floor care, responding to alarms, completing daily paperwork, enforcing quality control standards, and providing job leads to the Custodial Services Division Manager. The position requires maintaining positive working relationships using servant leadership principles.
