About The Position

Maintains the assigned physical facility in an operating condition that allows for the full educational program to function. Prepares written reports for facility and building administrative use.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Over 1 year up to and including 2 years’ experience.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Position requires interaction with all levels of staff.
  • Exceptional knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and floor cleaning machinery.
  • Deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variable in or from these situations encountered on the job.
  • Add and subtract two digit numbers.
  • Compare similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Print simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and series of numbers, names, and addresses.
  • Speak simple sentences, using normal word order, and present and past tenses.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all work elements of the Custodian position, plus: Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of the custodial staff.
  • Provides hands on instruction to all assigned custodians in proper cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Monitors and controls daily supply usage.
  • Performs weekly equipment checks to maintain equipment in good working order.
  • Verifies that assigned custodians wear proper uniform.
  • Supervises custodial coverage for public functions.
  • Checks time cards and reports daily attendance.
  • Attends head custodian meetings and communicates building needs to the Manager of Custodial Services.
  • Clean areas not cleaned by subordinates.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
  • Prepares written reports for facility and building administrative use.
