About The Position

This position involves leading the building custodial crew during the night shift to ensure the facility is maintained to high standards. Responsibilities include overseeing daily cleaning tasks, managing event setups and cleanups, assisting with maintenance requests, and ensuring staff adherence to safety procedures. The role requires effective communication with various stakeholders and a commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required
  • Custodial Experience in education setting: minimum of four years, required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, building administrators, co-workers and supervisors

Responsibilities

  • Lead building custodial crew to accomplish tasks needed throughout the facility.
  • Inspect others' runs and ensure productivity throughout the shift.
  • Complete assigned building daily expectations, including vacuuming, trash collection and removal, stocking supplies, sweeping, mopping, floor cleaning, restrooms, and lunch room clean up.
  • Clean up spills (including bodily fluids) throughout the building, promptly, as needed.
  • Verify event calendar schedule and print for night staff.
  • Lead the custodial team to maintain safe walkways using snow shovel, snow blower, and ice melt, as needed.
  • Assist staff with duties such as unlocking doors, minor equipment repair, and assisting in moving materials, according to electronic work orders.
  • Enter work tickets to the maintenance department for necessary repairs.
  • Assist with inventory of custodial supplies, including retrieving supply delivery, checking supplies in, and organizing into custodial workspace.
  • Assist in training new custodial employees with cleaning practices and equipment.
  • Complete assigned building monthly task list, including preventative maintenance, such as fire extinguishers and floor scrubbing machines.
  • Manage setup and cleanup of events with building custodial staff and athletics department.
  • Communicate with night supervisors on building status and staff concerns.
  • Respond to calls and communication from building staff and vendors during the shift.
  • Ensure staff follows safety procedures established by the District.
