About The Position

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a full-time Lead CT Technologist to join their team. This position offers a flexible daylight schedule, consisting of two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts, along with rotating weekend and holiday coverage. This role provides an excellent opportunity to advance one's imaging career by working alongside a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. The technologist will gain valuable experience in a Level I Trauma Center, as well as a leading cardiac and stroke center, with exposure to a wide variety of advanced and complex procedures. This role also offers the opportunity to float between UPMC Presbyterian, Montefiore, and the new Kamin Tower, providing broader clinical exposure and experience across multiple sites.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.
  • CT Specialty Boards Completed.
  • 3 years CT experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
  • ARRT certified as a CT Technologist.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34

Responsibilities

  • Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
  • Performs all responsibilities of CT Tech I and Advanced CT Tech II.
  • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame.
  • Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
  • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
  • Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
  • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.
