We value flexibility and have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working remotely 2 days a week and in the office for 3 days in Toronto’s Financial District. Reporting to the VP, Technology & Application Development, the Lead CRM Developer guides the technology that powers the CAO's digital services, the majority of which is built on Microsoft Dynamics 365. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical direction and solution architecture with day-to-day development. Working closely with the IT team and business stakeholders, the Lead CRM Developer designs reliable, secure, and maintainable solutions, leads their delivery from discovery through deployment, and mentors a cross-functional team while championing engineering and security best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Dynamics 365 CRM development, including customization, extensibility, workflows, plugins, and custom entities.
  • Solid experience in solution architecture and systems integration, with the ability to design scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams and managing multiple concurrent projects, with strong stakeholder management, prioritization, and risk management skills.
  • Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle, with experience in Agile delivery and secure development practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and version control with Git.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate and the wider Power Platform, and a sound understanding of CRM data models, workflows, and integrations.
  • Knowledge of CRM AI and Microsoft Copilot technologies, including Copilot Studio.
  • Experience with enterprise data management and governance, including data classification, privacy, access controls, and auditing.
  • Experience designing and delivering integrations between enterprise applications via APIs, including cloud and third-party services.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, combined with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize work across multiple products and service areas, balancing competing priorities and resources so the right initiatives are delivered at the right time.
  • Lead multiple CRM projects concurrently, from discovery through automated testing and deployment, using Agile methodologies and keeping stakeholders informed at every stage.
  • Provide hands-on development expertise in Dynamics 365 CRM, applying platform best practices and deep technical knowledge.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team of developers, business analysts, and quality assurance professionals, managing priorities, risk, and delivery.
  • Configure and customize Dynamics 365 to meet business needs, including advanced configuration and custom development (plugins, Logic Apps, Power Automate).
  • Design and implement integrations between Dynamics 365 and third-party or in-house systems across on-premises and cloud environments, including API development.
  • Automate business processes using the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) and Microsoft Azure services (Function Apps, Web Apps, Logic Apps).
  • Apply CRM AI and Microsoft Copilot tools, including Copilot Studio, where they deliver genuine value.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with a DevSecOps mindset, and expand automated testing across unit, integration, and regression coverage.
  • Manage technical debt through proactive refactoring and system improvements to ensure long-term reliability and efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues promptly, minimizing disruption and maintaining high quality standards.
  • Design scalable, secure, and maintainable enterprise solutions, defining application architecture, integration strategy, and technical roadmaps.
  • Define, document, and communicate solution, application, and data architectures, including system architecture and configuration guides.
  • Apply enterprise data management and governance practices, including data classification, information lifecycle management, privacy, access controls, and auditing.
  • Research and recommend emerging technologies, including AI and Copilot capabilities, that improve system development while balancing cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and security.
  • Advise on best practices for Dynamics 365 development and integration, and oversee the deployment, integration, and configuration of new solutions in line with operational and security standards.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and tactical execution of system maintenance, optimization, and software management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
