About The Position

Wells Fargo Bank N.A. seeks a Lead Credit Risk Officer in West Des Moines, IA. This role involves developing application approval and risk segmentation strategies for various segments, building business cases to enhance risk management, customer experience, and contribute to sustainable and profitable business growth. The position requires conducting comprehensive analyses to monitor strategy efficacy and accuracy, minimizing credit/operating losses and reputation/compliance risk exposure. It also involves partnering closely with product/marketing, system & technology, finance, compliance, and other Card business areas to develop risk criteria and propose new strategies. Collaboration with credit, deposit, and product groups, as well as external vendors, is expected to develop effective ways to manage new account decisions, leveraging best practices and new data/tools. The role requires prioritizing tasks based on importance and urgency, developing business cases for timely approval, and managing the rollout of pilot programs and criteria changes that present risk. Creating and sharing monitoring reporting and diagnostics on various performance metrics is crucial for informing risk strategy decisions. The position also involves preparing and presenting project summaries and insights to senior managers for support and approval.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or related credit risk role. Experience can be gained concurrently with graduate level education or coursework.
  • Two (2) years of Credit Risk, Quantitative Analytics, Data Science or equivalent experience.
  • Hands on experience in business analytics and recommendations.
  • Experience in SAS and SQL data processing.
  • Knowledge and understanding of statistical analysis.
  • Experience in analyzing data from multiple large data sources to develop and implement business strategies.
