White Cap is hiring immediately for a Lead Counter Sales Associate! As the leading North American distributor for professional contractors, the White Cap family of brands supplies of our nation’s largest construction projects, including stadiums, roads, bridges, highways, residential housing and more. White Cap and its affiliates serve as a one-stop shop, providing concrete accessories and chemicals, tools and equipment, building materials and fasteners, erosion and waterproofing products, and safety products to professional contractors by meeting their distinct and customized supply needs in non-residential, infrastructure, and residential end markets.

Requirements

  • Generally, has 7+ years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience in counter sales, customer service, or a related customer-facing role
  • Experience handling complex customer issues or escalations and driving resolution
  • Ability to train and support team members while contributing to daily operations
  • Proficiency with sales order systems or ERP tools (e.g., Oracle or similar)
  • Solid understanding of construction or industrial products and related applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, including order processing, customer follow-up, and in-store support
  • Proven ability to recommend products, upsell effectively, and support margin goals
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and build customer relationships

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service to our walk-in, phone, and will call customers.
  • Orders products, arranges delivery, contacts customers regarding delivery and updates customers on order status.
  • Serves as point of contact for escalation issues.
  • Provides training and support to new counter staff.
  • Acts as liaison between supervisor and customers.
  • Ensures purchase orders are completed.
  • Upsells by identifying related products, add-on extensions and making customers aware of product promotions.
  • Ensures merchandise displays are stocked and clean.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
