About The Position

In this role, you will lead a team and manage project cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. You will identify cost trends for management attention, support project organizational and administrative activities, and ensure work is completed as scheduled. Your data analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges, and your leadership will be essential to project success.

Requirements

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis, in the field and the home office.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for cost management activities.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems driven by data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Bechtel's financial reporting systems (CFAR), controller account codes, and cost management system (Ecosys).
  • Advanced knowledge of Bechtel's standard cost reporting including the PFSR, QURR, CoCo etc.
  • Must be able to independently provide guidance, training and coaching to junior and mid-grade Cost Engineers with multiple backgrounds and experience.
  • Must have excellent communications and presentation skills to combine sound analytical cost engineering principles with the ability to summarize, reach appropriate conclusions, and present to management teams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for cost estimating, analysis, and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill
  • Analyzes to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
  • Develops and implements project requirements for cost control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures
  • Ensures work is completed as scheduled, supporting project organizational and administrative activities
  • Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons
  • Reviews identified cost trends for cost effectiveness and suggesting alternatives when appropriate
  • Maintains open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities
