About The Position

Cardinal Health is seeking a Lead Coordinator for Shipping & Receiving to support daily transportation operations. This role involves inbound scheduling, outbound planning, and shipment coordination. The ideal candidate will manage customer orders through warehouse management systems, ensuring efficient freight movement. This position plays a key role in coordinating inbound appointments, releasing outbound work, and supporting special order handling. The Lead Coordinator will partner with various teams, including dispatch, warehouse operations, customer care, carriers, and third-party logistics providers, to maintain service levels and customer satisfaction. They will also be involved in capacity planning, issue resolution, and transportation execution. This role serves as a key operational partner, requiring independent problem-solving and the ability to guide less experienced team members.

Requirements

6+ years of experience, preferred
High School Diploma, GED or technical certification in related field or equivalent experience, preferred
Comprehensive knowledge in technical or specialty area
Ability to apply knowledge beyond own areas of expertise

Responsibilities

Supports daily transportation operations through inbound scheduling, outbound planning, and shipment coordination activities.
Manages and prioritizes customer orders through warehouse management systems, email, and phone communication while ensuring timely and efficient movement of freight.
Coordinating inbound appointments, releasing outbound work to the warehouse floor.
Supports special order handling, selecting appropriate transportation methods, and partnering with dispatch, warehouse operations, customer care, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to maintain service, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Supports capacity planning, issue resolution, and transportation execution to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Serves as a key operational partner across transportation and warehouse teams, working independently to resolve issues, support execution, and provide guidance to less experienced team members when needed.
Takes the lead in effectively applying and teaching new processes and skills in order to accomplish a wide variety of assignments.
Performs the most complex and technically challenging work within area of specialization.
Preempts potential problems and provides effective solutions for team.
Works independently to interpret and apply company procedures to complete work.
Provides guidance to less experienced team members.
May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise.
