About The Position

What Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. The Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain. Cardinal Health manages the pharmacy at Oakbend Medical Center and we are currently looking for a Pharmacy Buyer Technician to work 40 hours a week. Schedule will typically be Monday-Friday 7AM-3:30PM or 8AM-4:30PM. Competency Requirements: Complete purchasing competency training level 1 and 2 through Cardinal Health Continue purchasing training in Health Stream when assigned Knowledge of inventory practices as it pertains to pharmacy operations Other competencies as assigned Responsibilities Procurement buying of medication for inpatient and outpatient pharmacy departments In charge of ordering End of month reporting for re-calls and expired medications Purchases inventory updating Handles interdepartmental billing Team coordinator for 340b compliance regarding drug purchasing Handles account management for outside source drug managing Lead on receiving patient assistance program drugs Procurement of non-drug supplies Participates in committee meetings as necessary Qualifications High school degree or equivalent preferred Texas state pharmacy technicians license required National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) required IV compounding certification preferred 340B programming experience highly preferred Prior pharmacy buying/purchasing/ordering experience preferred Prior experience in an inpatient environment preferred Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel) preferred Ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets Excellent customer service skills required Strong verbal and written communication skills required What is expected of you and others at this level Takes the lead in effectively applying and teaching new processes and skills in order to accomplish a wide variety of assignments Comprehensive knowledge in technical or specialty area Ability to apply knowledge beyond own areas of expertise Performs the most complex and technically challenging work within area of specialization Preempts potential problems and provides effective solutions for team Works independently to interpret and apply company procedures to complete work Provides guidance to less experienced team members May have team leader responsibilities but does not formally supervise Anticipated hourly range: $22.30 per hour - $28.80 per hour Bonus eligible: No Benefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being. Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Texas state pharmacy technicians license required
  • National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB) required
  • IV compounding certification preferred
  • 340B programming experience highly preferred
  • Prior pharmacy buying/purchasing/ordering experience preferred
  • Prior experience in an inpatient environment preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word/PowerPoint/Excel) preferred
  • Ability to use technology such as computers, smart phones and tablets
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
