About The Position

We are currently hiring a part time Lead Cook - AM Shift (5am-1:30pm) for Fremont Hospital! The Lead Cook prepares patient meals as the cook while assisting the Director in managing and coordinating all aspects of the Food Service Department. Essential job functions include providing nutritious and attractive meals, maintaining a sanitary environment, monitoring supplies, ensuring proper storage, and managing staff. Successful candidate requires a combination of essential skills: calm under pressure, fine motor skills, attention to detail, a good memory, organizational and cleanliness skills, quick decision-making, collaboration, a positive attitude, openness to feedback, and planning skills. Fremont Hospital is a fully accredited, 148-bed private inpatient psychiatric hospital providing quality care for children through adults. The facility provides a full assortment of care which includes assessments, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, intensive outpatient psychiatric treatment as well as chemical dependency outpatient care. Requirements

  • AA degree or certificate training in related field of study required or comparable years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree or certificate.
  • Cooking and supervisor experience
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations
  • ServSafe® certification required
  • May be required to successfully complete the Fremont Hospital’s non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training course within 90 days of employment and prior to assisting with preventative intervention measures.
  • Required to work evenings and weekends, flexible hours, and may be required to work overtime.
  • Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
