About The Position

Osceola County Jail Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a Full-Time Lead Cook to join our team at the Osceola County Jail in Reed City, Michigan. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual who is comfortable taking a leadership role in a kitchen and takes pride in preparing quality meals and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work in a structured correctional environment
Ability to read and follow company recipes and instructions
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Dependability and good attendance
Attention to detail
Ability to work effectively with others
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to successfully obtain facility clearance

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in food service, restaurants, institutional kitchens, schools, healthcare, or correctional food service is helpful.
Dependable, willing to learn, and ready to take an active role in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily kitchen operation and ensure meals are prepared safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.
Prepare, cook, and serve meals.
Follow company recipes and meal production guidelines.
Assist with baking and food preparation.
Help with kitchen cleanup and sanitation.
Provide direction and assistance to kitchen staff.
Monitor food quality and proper food handling.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen.
Help ensure meals are completed on time.
Work as part of a team to keep daily kitchen operations running smoothly.
