About The Position

Florence Events Center is a premier gathering place in the Florence community, offering more than 21,000 square feet of flexible event space for meetings, banquets, trade shows, performances, and special events. Florence Events Center is seeking an experienced and dependable Lead Cook to support a wide range of community, private, and special events.

Requirements

  • Previous prep cook or related commercial kitchen experience required.
  • Must currently possess or be able to obtain a Food Handler Card in good standing by the date of hire.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience preparing meals for banquets, conferences, or high-volume events.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong attention to food quality, cleanliness, and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead food preparation for scheduled breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and other event meal service.
  • Develop and follow preparation schedules for meals and menu items.
  • Prepare meals and individual trays for guests with special dietary needs.
  • Provide direction and support to Food and Beverage Workers during food preparation and service.
  • Ensure all food is prepared to quality standards and completed on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of kitchen supplies and food items.
  • Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment and support compliance with health inspection standards.
