The Lead Cook is responsible for preparing special meals or substitute items, regulating oven temperatures, pulling food from freezer storage to thaw, ensuring proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish, and maintaining food logs. This role involves monitoring food quality and quantity, communicating needs during busy periods, informing the Chef of excess food items, and notifying Food & Beverage staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items. The Lead Cook also assists management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model. Additionally, the position requires adherence to all company and safety/security policies, reporting maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and completing safety training. The role also involves maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting company assets, anticipating and addressing guest needs, speaking clearly and professionally, developing positive working relationships, and ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, and moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. Other reasonable job duties may be requested by Supervisors.
