About The Position

The Lead Cook is responsible for preparing food as ordered, maintaining a clean kitchen environment, and contributing to the overall guest experience. This role involves direct interaction with guests and team members, ensuring adherence to food safety standards, and managing inventory. The Lead Cook plays a key part in delivering DKN's "Home Away From Home" experience.

Requirements

Minimum one (1) year experience.
Ability to communicate in English with guests, management and fellow team members to their understanding.
Ability to provide legible written communications.
Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to prioritize, organize and make good judgments.
Dependable.
Standing for long periods of time, frequently walking.
Repetitive bending, stooping, reaching, lifting, carrying and twisting.
Reaching above, at and below shoulder level.
Lifting unassisted up to 30 lbs. of bulk goods.
Exposure to cleaning agents.
Must be aware of the importance of safety and security.
Endeavor to be conscious of safety and security at all times.

Responsibilities

Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to restaurant and hotel guests.
Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
Wash, cut and prepare food for serving and/or cooking.
Cook food as ordered, working on several different orders simultaneously.
Inventory food items and report on supplies to be ordered.
Control inventory for loss, waste and spoilage.
Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils, keeping kitchen spotless to Company standards and to all health codes.
Adhere to food safety requirements.
Monitor cleanliness of back loading dock and trash area.
Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant and hotel.
Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
Deliver DKN’s "Home Away From Home" experience.
