About The Position

As a Lead Cook, you will be a visible leader in the kitchen, working with the team to deliver food to quality standards, monitoring the quantities, labor, and overhead costs.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of previous experience in a culinary service role is required
  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets and recipes
  • Basic math skills: ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions.
  • Verbal communication skills to lead the work of kitchen assistants

Responsibilities

  • Lead the work of kitchen assistants in preparing, cooking, and storing food, as well as in maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary conditions
  • Comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained, and food is stored correctly
  • Ensure freshness and quality of all menu items and packages all products to proper specifications
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to company guidelines
  • Follow and uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
  • Complete end-of-day inventory and other opening and closing duties in accordance with company checklists and procedures
