About The Position

As a Cook II at the Denali Backcountry Lodge, you will be responsible for preparing menu items for dining room service while working efficiently with standardized recipes and presentations. You will take direction from the Chef, provide excellent service to both guests and team members, and ensure all guests’ special needs are met, including dietary restrictions. This role also involves estimating food consumption, purchasing or requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, and ensuring efficiency and timely food production and safety. Additionally, you will participate in the provisioning of the island, which includes loading and unloading supply vessels, conducting inventories, and properly and safely storing items.

Requirements

  • Valid Alaska Food Handler’s Certification
  • Current CPR, First Aid
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Culinary School graduate or previous experience working as a cook in food service operations, or equivalent combination of experience and training

Nice To Haves

  • ServSafe Managers certificate preferred
