We're seeking a Full-Time Lead Cook to oversee daily meal preparation and help lead our kitchen team at the DeKalb County Jail in Auburn, Indiana.

Requirements

• Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a positive attitude
• Enjoys leading and supporting others
• Thrives in a structured correctional environment
• Can follow standardized recipes and food production procedures
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Takes pride in preparing quality meals and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen
• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to obtain facility security clearance
• Flexibility to work assigned shifts, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Previous food service experience is helpful-but we're happy to train motivated individuals with the right attitude and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and assisting with daily food preparation
• Preparing, cooking, and baking meals according to company standards
• Training and supporting kitchen team members
• Maintaining food safety, sanitation, and quality standards
• Assisting with kitchen clean-up and organization
• Helping deliver consistent meal service every day
