About The Position
Tigg's Canteen Services is hiring a Part-Time Lead Cook to join their team at the Leelanau County Jail in Suttons Bay, Michigan. The position involves leading daily meal preparation and kitchen operations within a secure, professional correctional facility.
Requirements
- Leads by example and has a positive attitude
- Enjoys working as part of a team
- Is dependable and organized
- Can lift up to 50 pounds
- Can read and follow standardized recipes
- Is comfortable working in a structured environment
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent
- Can pass the required facility clearance
Nice To Haves
- Food service, restaurant, institutional, healthcare, school, or correctional kitchen experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead daily meal preparation and kitchen operations
- Assist with cooking, baking, food preparation, and dishwashing
- Ensure meals are prepared according to company recipes and food safety standards
- Help train and support other kitchen team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
- Work in a secure, professional correctional facility
