This role provides continuous safety observation via continuous video monitoring for patients identified to be at risk for causing injury to themselves or others. Responsibilities include offering basic comfort measures, addressing emotional needs, and utilizing techniques such as encouragement, distraction, coping strategies, cognitive stimulation, and de-escalation. The technician monitors multiple patients via continuous video monitoring on-site at Delnor Hospital, providing verbal redirection and summoning appropriate staff when necessary. The role also involves intake operations, setting up cameras, entering patient information, ensuring camera functionality, assigning patients, and managing order discontinuation in Epic. Additionally, the Lead Continuous Visual Monitoring Technician cross-checks orders versus camera numbers, assists with high acuity patients, troubleshoots with IT and other systems, collects data on hospital and camera usage, and manages staffing including daily assignments, admission/discharge management, liaison with the staffing office, break coverage, overall scheduling, leading shift huddles, and serving as the primary onboarding team member by scheduling orientation, facilitating check-ins, and ensuring timely competency completion.
