About The Position

Lovelytics is seeking a Lead Consultant, Data Engineer with expertise in SAP and Databricks to join their team. This role is client-facing and focuses on modernizing data and implementing AI solutions using technologies like Databricks, AWS, and Azure. The consultant will be responsible for delivering projects related to data warehousing, ETL development, SAP data integration, and data modeling. Lovelytics is a fast-growing consulting firm backed by Databricks Ventures, known for its technical depth and inclusive culture. This position is open to remote candidates in the US and requires a passion for data and a collaborative spirit.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience in data engineering and big data.
  • At least 2 years working directly with clients and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience deploying pipelines using Databricks (a must).
  • Data modeling and database design skills.
  • Knowledge of version control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply technical skills to engagement needs.
  • Strong understanding of SAP data structures and relationships, beyond ETL tooling.
  • Deep understanding of SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) data architecture, specifically utilizing it as a source system with strong knowledge of its underlying tables and business processes.
  • Strong background in SAP data and integration technologies, specifically with at least one of the following: SAP Datasphere, SAP BW, SAP HANA, or SAP BDC.

  • Works with engagement leads and directors to gain exposure in the design and architecture of solutions.
  • Understands and utilizes Lovelytics tools and client tools.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize consulting and technical skills to work independently in a client-facing project environment.
  • Be responsible for personal execution and potentially lead individual work streams on client engagements under supervision.
  • Collaborate with team members to successfully deliver projects.
  • Communicate effectively with internal, client, and partner teams.
  • Develop full ownership of execution on client engagements, including involvement in project planning and solution stages.
  • Design and implement complex ETL/ELT pipelines with evidence of improved data processing times.
  • Lead small data warehousing projects with measurable performance enhancements under management.
  • Contribute to real-time data processing solutions and managed streaming data.
  • Implement security and compliance measures for data pipelines.
  • Design and implement version control and branching strategies, integrating them into CI/CD for promotion and testing.
  • Work hands-on with SAP data at the table level.
  • Interpret SAP data in the context of underlying business processes.
  • Utilize SAP ERP (ECC or S/4HANA) data architecture as a source system.
