About The Position

Join a General Contractor supporting the construction of a high-profile museum and visitor center project in San Antonio, TX. This unique project combines new construction with the preservation and integration of a historic building facade, requiring coordination across multiple trades and construction disciplines. This role offers the opportunity to serve as the lead safety professional onsite, providing oversight for all construction activities while partnering closely with project leadership, subcontractors, and craft personnel throughout a multi-year project.

Requirements

  • OSHA 510 Certification
  • Lead Construction Safety Manager experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Safety Manager
  • Experience coordinating safety efforts across multiple trades and subcontractors
  • Working knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
  • Working knowledge of General Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Multi-Trade Construction Operations
  • Working knowledge of Historic Preservation & Renovation Construction Activities
  • Working knowledge of Structural Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Concrete Construction Safety
  • Working knowledge of Steel Erection Activities
  • Working knowledge of Fall Protection & Elevated Work Activities
  • Working knowledge of Scaffold Safety
  • Working knowledge of Material Handling Operations
  • Working knowledge of Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Development
  • Working knowledge of Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
  • Working knowledge of Contractor Safety Management
  • Working knowledge of Construction Risk Assessment & Mitigation

Nice To Haves

  • General Contractor safety experience
  • Museum, historical renovation, or commercial construction experience
  • Experience supporting large-scale multi-trade construction projects
  • CHST, ASP, CSP, SMS, or other BCSP credential
  • Experience working on occupied, public-facing, or historically significant projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead all onsite safety operations for the project
  • Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Monitor contractor compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
  • Coordinate safety efforts across all trades and subcontractors
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Deliver site orientations and ongoing safety training
  • Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
  • Maintain safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
  • Partner with project management and field supervision to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
  • Support safe work practices during demolition, renovation, structural, concrete, steel, mechanical, electrical, and finish work activities
  • Promote a positive safety culture across the project

Benefits

  • $52/hr
  • $125/Day Per Diem (7 Days Per Week) for candidates residing more than 50 miles from the project location
  • $150/month Completion Bonus
