About The Position
The Pediatric Diabetes Center at Wolfson Children’s Hospital is seeking a Community Nurse Educator to join their team. This role is responsible for being a part of the diabetes education team and providing ongoing education and support to the patients and families of the Pediatric Diabetes Center in the setting of the hospital and the clinic.
Requirements
- 3-5 Years of Acute Patient Care Experience Required
- 1-2 years Program Coordination (Development, Execution, and Maintenance) Required
- 1-2 years Clinical Inpatient Nutrition Care Experience Required
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Licensed Registered Nurse Required Or Licensed Dietitian Required
- Level II Background screening required (A detailed fingerprint-based screening for positions of trust that check state (FDLE) and national (FBI) criminal history) as a condition of employment and continued employment.
Responsibilities
- Develops a treatment plan specific to each individual patient’s needs in collaboration with Nemours and the hospital staff.
- Supervises the department.
- Develops policies and procedures.
- Develops and manages the clinic schedule.
- Manages the CMS grant.
- Handles payroll.
- Serves as the point person for ADA and JDRF.
- Facilitates training on insulin pumps with vendors.
- Works with the manager on budget and revenue reports.
- Develops efficient workflows.
