About The Position

The Lead Coating Operator is responsible for ensuring their assigned station operates efficiently, meets production quotas, and that operators adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management System (QMS) Procedures. This role involves communicating pertinent information to the Shift Foreman for effective and safe operations, performing quality checks, and reporting any interruptions or irregularities. The Lead Coating Operator must also ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and QMS policies and procedures, and oversee the completion of QMS Reports for their station. Additional job duties may be assigned by the Shift Foreman.

Requirements

• Good communication skills/ability to lead small groups.
• Mechanical aptitude as demonstrated by prior experience.
• Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems, make decisions.
• Self-motivated towards productivity improvements, quality, and safety awareness.
• Solid interpersonal skills and team orientation.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends and some holidays as needed.
• Proven proficiency in department of the coating plant production line required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Prior coating and sand blasting experience preferred but not required.
• NACE certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure station is operating efficiently and hitting production quotas.
• Ensure station operators are following all NOV Tuboscope Standard Operating Procedures and QMS Procedures.
• Communicate and coordinate pertinent information to Shift Foreman for effective and safe operations.
• Perform quality checks throughout production runs.
• Inform the Shift Foreman of any interruptions or irregularities at the department.
• Follow all Company HSE, QMS policies and procedures and report any violations.
• Ensure all QMS Reports for the station are completed by plant operators.
• Perform other various job duties as required by the Shift Foreman or their designees.
