About The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programmer/Operator to join our production team. In this hybrid role, you will be the technical lead on the shop floor, responsible for creating precision CNC programs from engineering drawings and overseeing the setup and operation of our machines. You will serve as a mentor to junior operators, ensuring all parts meet strict quality standards while optimizing our manufacturing processes for maximum efficiency. Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of CNC machining experience with at least 2 years in a Lead or Supervisory role.
  • Technical Mastery: Proficiency in G-code/M-code and experience with CNC Routers
  • Drawings/Blueprints: Expert ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
  • Precision: Strong mathematical skills (algebra, geometry) and experience working with carbon fiber (CFRP).
  • Tools: Proficient in the use of CAD/CAM software and a wide range of precision measuring instruments.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, intra-team and interdisciplinary communication.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Attention to detail in written documentation and work performed.
  • Ability to analyze and think critically about a problem.

Responsibilities

  • Programming: Develop, test, and troubleshoot CNC programs using CAD/CAM software to produce parts that meet tight tolerances.
  • Setup & Operation: Perform complex machine setups, including tool selection and fixture installation. Operate CNC routers for small-batch (prototype) and production runs.
  • Optimization: Analyze tool paths, speeds, and feeds to reduce cycle times and material waste.
  • Quality Control: Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM) to perform first-article and in-process inspections.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to machine operators on setup, troubleshooting, and safety protocols.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and diagnose mechanical or software glitches.
