Under the direction of a RN/LPN or practitioner performs basic patient care activities. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; plus specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
  • Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training required.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care.
  • Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.
  • Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
  • Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinic setting preferred.
  • Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document patient vitals.
  • Perform bedside testing.
  • Perform basic nursing procedures such as oral care, perineal/foley care, non-sterile soaks, or thermal applications.
  • Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms.
  • Clean and store equipment.
  • Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required.
  • Perform basic clerical duties as needed.
  • As assigned.
