About The Position

DSN is seeking a Lead Cloud Software Architect to join a growing engineering team building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining architecture ownership, engineering mentorship, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing solutions that support key business objectives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree required and 10+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a lead role.
Backend development: Java (latest version preferred), Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, Event-Driven Architecture, and API Integration.
Cloud & infrastructure: AWS (ECS/Fargate, IAM, ALB, RDS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager), Cloud Architecture, Distributed Systems, and Infrastructure as Code.
DevOps & delivery: Docker, CI/CD, GitHub, DevOps practices, and Observability.
Data & search: SQL/NoSQL databases and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
Emerging tools: Performance Optimization and AI-assisted Development Tools.
Technical leadership and ownership, with the ability to mentor and coach engineers and develop technical talent.
Strong communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Collaborative problem solving, critical thinking, and sound decision making.
Adaptability and conflict resolution skills that support successful delivery of complex, cloud-native solutions.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and delivery ownership for a team of software engineers building and operating scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS.
Drive architecture decisions, engineering best practices, and solution design across Spring Boot microservices, OpenSearch platforms, CI/CD, observability, and AWS infrastructure.
Lead AWS cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, ensuring solution scalability, performance, security, and reliability.
Promote DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and AI-assisted development practices.
Support incident resolution, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Mentor engineers and develop technical talent.
Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and other stakeholders to align technology investments with business goals.
Collaborate with product, architecture, and platform teams to deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing solutions.
