About The Position

The Lead Cloud Operations Engineer is a senior-level technical role responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on leveraging cloud technologies to build scalable, reliable, and efficient systems. The primary goal is to ensure the team follows best practices for smooth cloud operations, optimizing performance, security, and cost-effectiveness. This role involves managing day-to-day technical tasks, advocating for the team, and collaborating with management to provide necessary resources. The Lead Cloud Operations Engineer will also provide guidance and leadership to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience
  • Certifications on cloud technologies
  • Troubleshooting Linux based systems
  • Scripting (shell, python)
  • Mentorship, coaching and guidance to more junior members of the team and sharing knowledge

Nice To Haves

  • Domain knowledge of banking, financial services, enterprise data platforms, AI-driven automation, and large-scale enterprise IT environments will be considered a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Align with peers and management to ensure best practices in cloud operations are maintained and adhered to.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to team members and ensure they are on-track with day-to-day tasks.
  • Support and align efforts to meet customer needs as part of service delivery.
  • Work with senior team members to learn, review, assess and improve infrastructure capabilities.
  • Monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of infrastructure availability.
  • Install, configure, test, maintain operating systems, application software and systems management tools.
  • Document and review the design, operations and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot incidents reported on the infrastructure.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis.
  • Create and review Root Cause Analysis documentation.
  • Present analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with engineers to implement fixes.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Author and maintain scripts to increase system efficiency.
  • Identify, conceptualize and execute automation engagements.
  • Communicate proactively with customers and internal team members to deliver business value as part of daily work management.
  • Lead triage sessions with customers and partners.
  • Train, guide and help other members of the team to obtain necessary knowledge.
  • Adhere to defined support processes.
  • Support team in developing a knowledge base.
  • Ability to work in remote and/or office setting.
  • Fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Support offshore hours / multiple time zones.
  • Flexibility with working hours based on team and client needs.
