About The Position

Humana is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Data Caching Platform Engineer to design, develop, automate, deploy, and support enterprise-scale data-caching platforms across cloud and on-premises environments. The role focuses on Azure Managed Redis (AMR), Google Cloud Memorystore (Valkey/Redis), and Redis Enterprise, combining engineering and operational expertise to provide secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient caching services for critical business applications. The position includes Level 3 production engineering support, participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation, incident troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. The engineer will work with application, cloud, security, and operations teams to set platform standards and deliver reliable solutions. This is a remote role with occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings. Home or hybrid home/office employees must have internet service meeting the stated minimum speeds and a dedicated workspace that protects member PHI/HIPAA information.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
At least 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or engineering and support of enterprise data-caching technologies.
Hands-on experience engineering and supporting enterprise caching platforms, such as Azure Managed Redis (AMR), Google Cloud Memorystore (Valkey/Redis), Redis Enterprise, or similar distributed caching technologies.
Strong experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development practices.
Experience developing automation and operational tooling with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
Experience providing Level 3 production support, participating in on-call rotations, and resolving complex distributed-system issues.
Strong Linux administration, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
Solid understanding of data caching, cloud networking, security, high availability, resiliency, and disaster recovery architectures.

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting Azure Managed Redis (AMR), Google Cloud Memorystore (Valkey/Redis), or Redis Enterprise environments.
Experience designing and operating multi-cloud solutions across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, and cloud-native technologies.
Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational automation solutions.
Azure and/or Google Cloud certifications.
Experience supporting mission-critical platforms with demanding availability, scalability, and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

Design, engineer, automate, and support enterprise data-caching platforms, including Azure Managed Redis (AMR), Google Cloud Memorystore (Valkey/Redis), and Redis Enterprise across cloud and on-premises environments.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code, automation solutions, and deployment frameworks using Terraform and modern scripting languages.
Provide Level 3 engineering support for production platforms, participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation, troubleshoot complex incidents, and lead root cause analysis efforts.
Drive platform reliability, performance, scalability, security, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
Partner with application, cloud, security, and operations teams to establish platform standards and deliver highly available, resilient solutions.
