The Lead Clinician is responsible for meeting federal and state regulatory guidelines, maintaining an on-call schedule, engaging in quality assurance, providing consultation and supervision to clinicians, and performing various clinical functions such as counseling, crisis management, evaluations, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children. The role also involves recording clinical data, maintaining child records, providing data for staff regarding admissions/discharges, meeting deadlines for processing and reunification of unaccompanied alien children, assisting in discharge planning, maintaining knowledge of community resources, communicating with referral sources and providers, attending meetings, participating in professional development, preparing reports, and working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. The Lead Clinician must also implement safety protocols, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to professional and ethical standards. Other responsibilities include ensuring the completion of psychosocial assessments, service plans, and progress reports, ensuring clinicians complete weekly groups, ensuring the clinical department meets state and federal requirements, meeting deadlines set by chain of command and federal partners, and supporting foster care programs by recruiting foster parents.
